Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. All compression happens directly in your browser using the Canvas API. Your images never leave your device — this is a privacy-first browser image compressor.
What image formats are supported?
Input: JPEG, PNG, and WebP. Output: JPEG, WebP, and PNG. You can convert between formats during compression. For other format conversions, use the Image Converter.
What quality setting should I use?
For web use, 75–85% quality gives an excellent balance of size and visual quality. Use 90% for high-quality photos, or 50% for thumbnails. The presets (High/Good/Small) are a great starting point for fast image compression.
What is the Target Size feature?
Target Size mode lets you set a maximum file size (e.g., 100 KB). The tool tries progressively lower quality settings using binary search to find the highest quality that keeps the file under your target.
Can I compress multiple images at once?
Yes. Drop multiple files onto the upload area and they will be processed together. Each image appears in a queue with file tabs. Use "Download All" for bulk image compression.
Can I paste an image from my clipboard?
Yes. Copy any image to your clipboard and press Ctrl+V (or Cmd+V on Mac) to paste it directly into the compressor. This works for screenshots and copied images from other apps.
Why does the compressed file sometimes not get smaller?
If your image is already highly optimized, further compression may not reduce the size significantly. The tool returns the original to avoid delivering a larger file.
What is EXIF stripping?
EXIF data includes metadata like camera settings, GPS location, and timestamps. The tool strips this automatically during processing for privacy. You can toggle this off if you want to preserve metadata.
